According to the local beliefs of the people in Khuzestan Province, there is a creature living in rivers that resembles a human in every way. The people of this region believe that this creature pulls humans—especially children—underwater, drowns them, and then sucks their blood. For this reason, they generally forbid their children from swimming in these rivers. They call this mythical creature “Bablooi.” However, today this mythical creature has taken a new form in the eyes of the locals
